The New York Mets were defeated by the Atlanta Braves 4-1 on Wednesday night. Even a different look to the lineup could not improve the Mets offense, managing only four baserunners in the game. Atlanta continues to dominate the series and look to sweep the Mets in tomorrow night’s game.

We are at that point in the season where Mets fans have lost all hope in 2010 and looking towards the future. The struggles of the last four seasons have really put a dent in Mets fans hearts, causing fan confidence and attendance to fall to its lowest level in recent memory. So many negative issues have haunted the team this year, and major changes must be made in order to compete in 2011 and beyond. With that said, this will probably be the most important September (without being in contention) in a long time.

The New York Mets were defeated by the Atlanta Braves 9-3 on Monday night. They played an awful game on both sides of the spectrum, struggling to hit with runners in scoring position and losing it on the mound. They are back to under .500 for the season, and give the Atlanta Braves a larger division lead in the NL East.

The New York Mets defeated the Florida Marlins 6-5 in walk-off fashion Tuesday night. Luis Castillo poked an opposite field single into right field to drive in Ike Davis as the winning run in the bottom of the ninth inning. With the victory, the Mets are one game over .500 for the season, and pull ahead of the Marlins in the standings.

The New York Mets were defeated by the Pittsburgh Pirates 2-1 on Sunday afternoon. They were unable to sweep the worst team in baseball, and head home with a bad taste in their mouths. A big homestand against the Florida Marlins and Houston Astros will be a decent test to see if the Mets really have their minds focused on playing October baseball.

The Mets got a win last night against the Houston Astros. Niese had another nice outing, but took the no decision, as the Mets climbed back to .500 at 59-59. We’ll see how the rest of this week goes, as they have 6 more games against terrible teams, before listing where they stand in the Wild Card.

The New York Mets took a brutal 7-5 loss to the Philadelphia Phillies on Friday night. The Mets had the game in their back pocket, until the bullpen showed up. With the loss, the Mets fall to a game under .500, and have dropped 15 of their last 21 games since the All-Star Break.

The offense continues to suck as bad as Oliver Perez, and the Mets now sit at 53-53. A week before the All Star Break, they were 11 games over .500, but now cannot score runs to save their lives. They continue they’re terrible woes on the road as well.

The New York Mets topped the St. Louis Cardinals 8-2 on Tuesday night. After a 2-9 road trip, they start their six-game homestand on a good note. After 100 games played, the Mets are 51-49, only two games over .500, and struggling to keep pace with the hot Atlanta Braves and Philadelphia Phillies in the NL East division.
