The New York Mets were defeated by the Florida Marlins Tuesday night 7-6. The Mets fought hard at the end to even the score, but Dan Uggla hit a walk-off single off Pedro Feliciano in the bottom of the ninth. They continue to struggle against the Marlins, now 4-8 on the season. With an Atlanta loss, they were unable to gain ground for the NL East division lead.

The New York Mets embarrassed the New York Yankees in a 4-0 win Friday night on their home turf. Stellar pitching and clutch late hitting resulted in the Mets winning their 8th consecutive game, while keeping pace with the red hot Atlanta Braves in the NL East.

R.A. Dickey improved to 2-0 as the Mets were able to avoid a sweep in Milwaukee this afternoon. They improved to 4-12 on the road this month, and sit three games back of the Phillies.

In an effort to avoid losing another series, Mike Pelfrey continued his strong start to the season by pitching seven strong innings without giving up a run. With the help of Jose Reyes‘ bat, the Mets defeated the Cubs 4-0 on Tuesday night. Also, Fernando Tatis contributed a 2-run homerun to give K-Rod some breathing room in the 9th inning.
