An important Week 8 is in the books. More after the jump…

 Team: The Cowboy Chicken 1

Starting Lineup:
QB: Cam Newton (at TB): 30.05 points
RB: Frank Gore (at JAC): 20.70 points
RB: Reggie Bush (vs DAL): 26.20 points
WR: Anquan Boldin (at JAC): 9.60 points
WR: Jeremy Kerley (at CIN): 5.70 points
TE: Jordan Cameron (at KC): 14.10 points
FLEX: Tyler Eifert (vs NYJ): 5.30 points
FLEX: Michael Floyd (vs ATL): 12.00 points
K: Mason Crosby (at MIN): 15.50 points
DEF: New Orleans (vs BUF): 10.00 points

Team Score: 149.15 (League Rank: #1)
Record: 8-0, (149.15 vs. 135.70)
Overall: 964th

Waivers: Added: Andrew Quarless (Dropped: LeGarrette Blount, $59), Added: Tashard Choice (Dropped: New England, $75)

Waiver Strategy: Jermichael Finley is sidelined indefinitely, so we made the move for his back-up, Quarless. He’s nothing more than a speculative play. Reggie Bush did not practice on Friday and with Matt Forte on a bye, we had to scramble and add Choice. CJ Spiller was out this week, so we could use Choice if Bush was out (Bush played).

Lineup Decisions: Lots of bye week players to deal with. We didn’t have Matt Forte or Torrey Smith, but our back-up filled in well. Tyler Eifert had two red zone targets go through his hands, so he could have had a big day.

Injuries: Once again, Roddy White was out, so we benched him. Michael Vick was active, but quickly left in the 2nd quarter. We’re all systems go with Cam Newton.

Final Thoughts: Just keep winning. We’re 8-0 and moving forward. Right now, we’re 2 games ahead of the field and we’re 3rd in points scored within the league. As stated last week, we achieved our goal and won the Week 8 match-up. Week 9 is going to be rough. The Lions and 49ers have bye weeks. If we win in Week 9, we’ll lock up the #1 seed in the playoff round and guarantee participation in the league playoffs (Weeks 12 and 13) and overall playoffs (Weeks 14-16).

Team: The Cowboy Chicken 2

Starting Lineup:
QB: Cam Newton (at TB): 30.05 points
RB: Adrian Peterson (vs GB): 17.30 points
RB: Pierre Thomas (vs BUF): 12.40 points
WR: Marques Colston (vs BUF): 4.80 points
WR: Demaryius Thomas (vs WSH): 20.50 points
TE: Jordan Cameron (at KC): 14.10 points
FLEX: Rueben Randle (at PHI): 0.00 points
FLEX: Andre Ellington (vs ATL): 24.20 points
K: Mason Crosby (at MIN): 15.50 points
DEF: New Orleans (vs BUF): 10.00 points

Team Score: 148.85 (League Points Rank: #1, +49, Record Rank: #5)
Record: 4-4, (193.00 vs 148.85)
Overall: 225th (+22 spots)

Waivers: Added: Andrew Quarless, (Dropped: Timothy Wright, $59)

Waiver Strategy: After a disappointing showing from Wright, we dropped him and added Quarless as purely a speculative play.

Lineup Decisions: The Bears were on a bye, so we had to play Rueben Randle and he laid an egg.

Injuries: No major injuries.

Final Thoughts: We’re averaging 143 points per week, so we exceeded our average out-put. Our opponent had Drew Brees, who threw for 5 TDs, and Marvin Jones who scored 4 TDs. In total, our opponent scored 12 TDs against our 6 TDs. We moved up 20 or so spots in the overall ranks. We’re currently about 50 points ahead of the league, so as long as we put 150+ point weeks, we’ll lock in the #2 seed and punch our ticket to the playoff round.

On to Week 9…
