Speculation out of New York is the Knicks, who have been left a bit thin at point guard because of injuries, could make a run at bringing Nate Robinson back to Gotham.
Sparking the rumors of Robinson’s return to New York is that the Bulls will likely have to move a point guard when former league MVP Derrick Rose returns from injury. Robinson would be the most likely to be shipped out, according to local media.
While that rumor has escalated in recent days, the Knicks are also close to boosting its backcourt with the return of Iman Shumpert from a torn ACL that has kept him out the entire season. The second-year pro was cleared to return to practice this week, but head coach Mike Woodson declined to say when he would join the Knicks gameday lineup.
Robinson is having another solid season in his first year as a Chicago Bulls. The diminutive point guard is averaging 11.2 points and 3.6 assists a game while splitting time with Kirk Heinrich.
Robinson was a first-round pick of the Knicks in 2005 and spent all or part of five seasons playing in New York. He would likely provide a boost to the Knicks, so keep that in mind moving forward while formulating your NBA picks.
