It hasn’t been the best couple of weeks for the Nets, as they’ve lost numerous games in a row and have dropped out of first place in the Atlantic Division. Can they rebound with some solid performances this week?
After posting a five-game winning streak and winning 10 of 12 during November, the Nets have now lost four straight games, including consecutive home games defeats against Oklahoma City, Golden State and Milwaukee.
A loss against the Thunder could be expected, considering they’re playing lights out, but it was relatively surprising to see Brooklyn lose to the Warriors and Bucks at home, even if both teams are playing better this season.
This week, you’re going to want to be very selective with your NBA picks again with regards to the Nets.
They’ll start off with a home game against the high-flying New York Knicks, who have raced out to a 15-5 start this season. Carmelo Anthony has returned to the fold after a brief absence due to a finger injury, making the Knicks even more dangerous going forward. Can Brooklyn nab a win and put some pressure on New York in the division?
There’s a very quick turnaround for the Nets as they’ll play the Toronto Raptors the next day. The Raptors are banged up and can’t seem to close out a win to save their lives, so the Nets are in a good position to win there.
On Friday, the Nets return home to host the Detroit Pistons in what should be another win for Avery Johnson’s team. The Pistons are playing a little better as of late, but this is still a mismatch and Brooklyn should be able to grab a comfortable victory.
And finally, to wrap up the week, the Nets will play the Bulls in Chicago. It will be the second game of a back-to-back, so hopefully Brooklyn won’t be too tired for this showdown.
