Neither Buffalo or Minnesota could grab a win in the first week of preseason. Now they take to the field to play one another in week two.

As for the NFL odds for this matchup, the Vikings opened as one-point favorites but now the betting spread is at 2.5. The total can be found at 37.

The Bills began their preseason with a 7-6 loss at home to the Washington Redskins.

Ryan Fitzpatrick started and went 6-of-14 for 61 yards, before giving way to Tyler Thigpen and Vince Young. Thigpen was 3-of-8 for 38 yards and an interception, while Young went 5-of-12 for 50 yards and added 37 yards on the ground.

Defensively, Buffalo looked strong, with cornerback Ron Brooks getting an interception and a number of other guys getting a chance to prove their worth.

This weekend the Bills will play Minnesota looking for their first win. The first-team offense should get some more reps in here.

Don’t you worry. Fred Jackson and CJ Spiller aren’t hurt – they just didn’t get a chance at running the ball as the Bills opted to throw to open the game. We can expect the running back duo to see more action this Friday against the Vikings.

That’s one of the reasons we think Buffalo will cover. The Bills also have much more experience at quarterback, considering Minnesota will be rolling from the start with Christian Ponder and will then have Joe Webb and Mcleod Bethel-Thompson running the offense.

Meanwhile, Buffalo has three guys who have all been starters in this league at one point or another.

So while the Bills couldn’t muster enough offense to get a home win against Washington, there’s a high probability they’ll fare better in that regard on Friday and get the better of Minnesota.
