The New York Yankees continue their winning run through the American League, making a killing vs.  the MLB odds in the process. They’ve been doing their recent damage within the friendly confines of Yankee Stadium, but now they’ll take their act on the road, starting with four games in Oakland with the surprising A’s beginning Thursday night.

The Yankees just swept three games at home from Toronto, taking Wednesday’s series finale 6-0 behind seven shut-out innings from Hiroki Kuroda. So New York has won three in a row, six of its last seven and nine of its last 11 to boost its lead in the AL East to 10 games over the second-place Orioles.

The Yanks are also now two games ahead of Texas in the battle for the best record in the American League.

Oakland, meanwhile, just split two games with the Rangers. So the A’s have won four of their last five games and 10 of their last 12 to get to three games above .500 at 47-44. And while they still trail Texas by eight games in the AL West, they’re only a half-game out of the second AL Wild-Card spot.

New York will throw Freddy Garcia Thursday, Ivan Nova Friday, Phil Hughes Saturday and CC Sabathia Sunday. Oakland will counter with AJ Griffin, Tom Milone, Jarrod Parker and Bartolo Colon.

The Yankees are 4-3 in games started by Garcia this season, 13-5 for Nova, 10-8 for Hughes and 12-4 for Sabathia.

The A’s are 3-1 in games started by Griffin, 11-7 for Milone, 8-7 for Parker and 9-9 for Colon.

In the only previous meeting this season between these two teams New York swept three games in Oakland back in late May. So the A’s might be looking for a little revenge this weekend.

The Yanks and A’s are a combined 72-106 on the ‘over/unders’ this season.
