After a great start to their 2011 campaign, things quickly started falling apart for the Bills after their 4-1 start. The Bills finished the season on a 2-9 stretch, and after it looked like they might win the AFC East, the Bills fell right back down to a non playoff team. Will the Bills be able to get back to the winning side of our NFL picks in 2012?

Their first test of the 2012 season will be against a divisional foe, as Buffalo will travel to face their cross state rivals the Jets. New York if favored in the game at -3 ½, with a total of 42 ½ points.

Getting off to a solid start will be big for the Bills, and no one has more pressure on him than Ryan Fitzpatrick. After the Bills awarded Fitz with a big contract in 2011, last season seemed to fall apart right after he signed on the dotted line.

Some other Bills that have pressure is star running back Fred Jackson. Jackson got hurt last season, and he was leading the league in rushing before his season was cut short. If both of those Bills can lead the way, the likes of Stevie Johnson and the newly acquired Mario Williams will follow suit.

I think the first five games of last season was a sign of good things to come for the Bills and I think a chance to beat the Jets on the road in Week 1 is a good starting block. I think the Bills have one of the better chances of winning a road game in Week 1, and them taking over 3 points seems to be great value. I like the Bills to win in Week 1 on the road.
