Sure it’s early, but the new season will be here before you know it. What are going to be the best NFL picks for Week 1 between the Giants and Cowboys? Find out our pick here.

After winning another Super Bowl, again over Tom Brady and the New England Patriots in the championship game, the Giants will start their defense at home to Tony Romo and the Dallas Cowboys in Week 1 of the 2012/13 NFL season.

The game will kick off at 8:30 PM EST on Wednesday, September 5th and will be shown nation-wide on NBC.

The Giants haven’t done too much wheeling and dealing during the offseason. After all, they did win the whole damn thing last season. They have all all of their star players back and ready for another playoff run, including much-improved QB Eli Manning.

Manning really elevated his decision-making last season, turning New York into a pass-first offense. They ranked fifth in passing yards per game (295.9) and were actually dead last in rushing (89.2).

To address those issues running the ball, the Giants went and drafted Virginia Tech running back David Wilson with their first-round pick. Whether he makes an immediate impact remains to be seen.

Defensively, something has to be done with that secondary, which allowed 255.1 passing yards per game last season. At least this team has a frighteningly dominant line that includes powerhouses like Justin Tuck, Jason Pierre-Paul and Osi Umenyiora.

Week 1 against the Cowboys should be a hell of a game. Both teams have explosive offenses and it’ll be interesting to see how the Giants fare against a revamped Dallas secondary.

Will Victor Cruz and Hakeem Nicks win the battle? They did so numerous times last season and the Giants have to like their chances, especially at home to begin the season.
