The New York Jets will welcome the Jacksonville Jaguars to New York for their Week 2 match-up. Both teams won their opening games last week, as the Classless Jets topped the Cowboys late and the Jags stopped Chris Johnson and the Titans. The Jets will look to tee-off on one of the weakest starting quarterbacks in the league, Luke McCown. Despite the presence of Maurice Jones-Drew, the Jets need to come out and dominate on both sides of the ball tomorrow. Vegas has the Classless Ones pegged as a nine-point favorite, but here are three reasons why they will win by more than that.

Plax Acting Classless

1. Pressure, Pressure, Pressure: The Jaguars only committed one turnover against the Titans last week, but they will see a completely different defense this week. The Jets will bring the house against McCown and force Mike Thomas onto an island with Darrelle Revis. As the Cowboys learned last week, Revis Island is not a good place to be. With Thomas covered and tight end Marcedes Lewis doubtful for the game, the Jets can send the house and create immense pressure on McCown and Jones-Drew.

2. Get Ahead: After playing from behind all week last week, the Jets will make it their mission to start fast and strong. Expect the Jets to take shots down the field from the start. Santonier is questionable for the game, but expect him to play. I see the Jets using their pass catching weapons in the first half and using their rushing attack to wear down the clock in the second half.

3. Stop MJD: MJD is all the Jaguars have. After running for 140+ yards last week, don’t expect him to gain more than 50-60 against a stout front seven. Once MJD is taken out of the game, the Jaguars areĀ helpless. Rex will dial it up early and often to stop the talented running back.

I see the Jets winning by double digits to improve to 2-0. I can see Holmes, Burress, Tomlinson, and Greene all hitting paydirt en route to a Jet route. The real challenge starts next week when they hit the road.
