To be honest, baseball was one of the last thing’s on my mind today. Of course, we had the opening games for our beloved Jets and Giants. Also, the tenth anniversary of the attack on our nation’s freedom in New York, Washington, and Shanksville, PA was a humble reminder of the blessings that we have to live in this great country and have the best military force in the world protecting us here at home. The emotional tributes and dedications paid across the nation today to those who lost their lives that fateful day really helped us keep life in perspective.

In the baseball game, the Yankees picked up their winning ways after a rough four-game skid. The offense picked up home runs by Curtis Granderson (#39) and Robinson Cano (#25). Mariano Rivera saved his fortieth game of the season and his 599th of his career.
