The New York Yankees defeated the Toronto Blue Jays tonight by a final score of 6-4. Bartolo Colon was serviceable, but Boone Logan picked up the win and Dave Robertson picked up a two-inning save as the Yankees take a full-game lead over the Red Sox in the division.

Today’s game was very similar to last nights; the Jays jumped out to a quick 2-0 lead, then the Yankees came back from some unlikely sources of offense. Today’s unlikely source was Francisco Cervelli, who hit a two-run home run to push the Yankees into an early 3-2 lead. Robby Cano hit two RBIs (which gives him 101 on the year) and Swish hit a single which would prove to be ample insurance for the Yankee bullpen.

With Rafael Soriano and Mariano Rivera unavailable as they pitched the last two days, the Yankees needed some relievers to fill in for the usual seventh and ninth inning guys. Enter Boone Logan and Dave Robertson, who combined for 2.2 innings and one hit, while striking out four. Not a bad way to give the big guns a day off… check out Fox at 4:05 to see if the Red Sox can keep pace with the Yankees in their game against the Texas Rangers.
