Of the four AL East road venues, the Yankees had the most trouble in the Rogers Centre in 2010. The Yankees went 3-6 in games played in Toronto with the pitchers posting an unsightly 4.26 ERA. The power was on display in each game against the Yankees. The Blue Jays led the Majors with 257 home runs last year, smacking 16 of those at home against the Yankees. More impressively, Jose Bautista homered six times in 61 at-bats against the Yankees last season. The Blue Jays have only hit 12 home runs this season,  but have only played six games in the comfy confides of their home field.

The Yankees will send AJ Burnett out to the mound tonight. Burnett went 0-2 with a 14.04 ERA at the Rogers Centre last season. Burnett gave up five homers in only 8.1 innings.

Memo to Allan James, keep the damn ball in the zone.

Wednesday’s starter, Bartolo Colon has faired a little better in the Rogers Centre, posting a 4-2 career record with a 3.86 ERA. Colon hasn’t pitched in Toronto since 2009, but has given up only one home run in 11.1 innings.
