Breathe a collective sigh of relief, Jet fans. Quarterback Mark Sanchez will not require off-season surgery on his injured right shoulder. Sanchez injured his shoulder on December 19th in Pittsburgh and played the remaining five games with a ‘sore’ shoulder. Sanchez said “it was painful, but nothing I couldn’t handle.” ¬†Sanchez has not taken any cortisone shots either, so the injury should fully heal within the coming months. Bottom line, Sanchez is one tough dude.

Last off-season, Sanchez rehabbed from knee surgery, which limited his preparation. With the lockout looming on March 4th, Sanchez and the rest of the Jet skill position players will hold informal workouts as the league attempts to hammer out a new Collective Bargaining Agreement.
