I hate the New York Jets more than any other professional team. I hated Hard Knocks, I can’t stand Rex’s bombastic personality, and the players act like they are God’s gift to football (looking at you, Santonio). However, the New York Jets have become the ‘must-see’ team in America. People are intrigued to see what Rex will do next. People are intrigued to hear what Broadway Joe has to say about ‘Broadway’ Mark. People actually wanted to watch Hard Knocks and witness the players playing with Shakeweights and eating hamburgers during Training Camp. Whether you love them or hate them, you just can’t put the remote down when you see a Jet on TV, which leads me to my next point…

Is anyone actually ready for the Jet season to end? Outside of Jersey Shore and The Real World, the Jets give me my daily fix of ‘reality’┬átelevision…..

‘Look, there goes Rex about to go on a rant about his defense!’
‘No Santonio, you are not the best receiver of all-time’ ‘
Mr. T, put down the football before you get hurt on Hardknocks!’

Do we really want all of that to go away on Sunday? With the impending lockout, none of us have any idea when football will happen again.

At the end of the day, the Jets are just a bunch of goofballs. Classless goofballs, but goofballs, nonetheless. And for much of America, it’s really, really hard to hate a bunch of goofballs. If anything, I think America is starting to warm up to the Jets. They want to see what will happen next. They want to see who will make the next outrageous statement. They want to see the Jets demean the perfect Tom Brady. They want unpredictability and the Jets are the definition of unpredictable.

Before I release our picks tomorrow, let’s just take a moment and think about what Super Bowl week would be like if the Jets were in it. Think about the antics. Think about the passion LaDainian Tomlinson would show playing in his first and maybe only Super Bowl ever. I can’t even image what Rex would do, but Jet fans across the tri-state area will happily carry him to Dallas if he can deliver a win on Sunday.

Whether you love or hate the Jets, you will be glued to your television set come Sunday night around 6:30 PM Eastern to see what will happen next….
