Well, I don’t think many people saw this coming, but Cliff Lee and the Phillies have agreed to a contract. Nothing has been released yet, but the deal is apparently for five years, $100 million with an option for a sixth year.

I covered the topic in detail earlier tonight, but if you want vent your frustrations, use this thread here.

For Yankee fans, this one hurts. The Yankees offered Lee a six-year contract worth $138 million with a $16 million option for a seventh year. Lee clearly left money on the table and as of right now, Ivan Nova is our fourth starter.

For Mets fans, well, there’s nothing to say. Just duck and cover for 2011.

Also, it’s pretty good to be the Kansas City Royals today. The Zack Greinke price just went through the roof.
