Nothing is official yet, but reports on Twitter indicate the Cliff Lee is going back to the Texas Rangers. The report states that Lee turned down the Yankees seven-year, $161 million deal. The report states that Lee and his wife prefer their lifestyle in Texas rather than taking Yankee money and moving to the East Coast. The Rangers are rumored to have offered a 5/6 year deal worth approximately $20 million per year.

Again, nothing is official yet, but Lee has apparently rejected the top Yankee offer. Will the Bombers offer a new deal? That remains to be seen.

If the Yankees lose out on Cliff Lee, the Kansas City Royals stand as the biggest winners, as Zack Greinke’s price will go through the roof.
