Talk about domination. Once again, Cliff Lee came into Yankee Stadium and absolutely dominated the Yankees, throwing eight innings of two-hit ball. Lee struck out a career high 13 Yankee hitters. Andy Pettitte got the start for the Bombers and pitched extremely well. In seven innings, he only made one mistake. Pettitte gave up a first-inning, two-run home run to Josh Hamilton. Let’s not think this way, but if that was Andy’s final start at Yankee Stadium, he can’t be too disappointed.

The Yankees kept the game close through eight innings, trailing 2-0. However, the bullpen had a comedy of errors and horrible pitching performances. The Rangers ended up winning Game 3, 8-0.

Let’s just forget about this one and focus on Game 4. Joe Girardi has said all week that AJ Burnett will get the ball in Game 4. It’s put up or shut up time for Burnett. This is a must-win for the Bombers.
