Initial Reaction:

Dillon Gee matched up against Chris Narveson in the final game of the Mets/Brewers series. Gee pitched more towards his expectations, giving up four runs (two earned) on seven hits and three walks in six innings of work. His offense didn’t hit enough for him to compete for a win, as he left the game with a 4-1 deficit.

When a team commits three errors in the field, it’s very unlikely they’ll win the game.

Youngsters Josh Thole and Lucas Duda both hit their sixth doubles of the season. Good stuff!

Positives From The Game:

There really were none…

Negatives From The Game:

9th Inning Relievers: Sean Green and Manny Acosta combined to allow five runs in the 9th inning, giving the Brewers a 9-2 lead going into the bottom of the 9th.

Reyes: An 0 for 4 performance, as well as an error leading to two runs scoring, doesn’t bode well for the shortstop. He’s been quite clumsy in the field lately.

Interesting Facts:

  • Jose Reyes committed his 15th error of the season in the 5th inning, leading to two unearned runs.
  • Ruben Tejada reached base three times, drawing two walks and legging out a bunt single.

What’s Next?: The New York Mets finish out the 2010 season with a three-game set against the Washington Nationals at CitiField beginning Friday night. Game Time 7:10 PM on SNY.
