The Mets won their 3rd straight game as they opened the final homestand of the year at Citi Field. Carlos Beltran left the game with a sore knee, but frankly, who the hell cares. The most interesting fact of the season came to an end tonight; the Mets won for the first time when trailing after 8 innings. Ruben Tejada hit a 2 run double to plate the winning runs. They are now 1-67 trailing after 8. Way to go boys.

David Wright hit his 27th home run of the season, and now has 98 RBIs on the year. 30 homers isn’t outta the question. It’s been a great bounce back year after last season’s awful campaign.

Elmer Dessens picked up his 4th win of the season after pitching a scoreless 9th inning. At 77-79, it’d be nice to see the Mets find a way to win 4 of their last 6 and finish at the .500 mark. Sending Jerry out on a non losing season might allow him to find a job as a bench coach somewhere… as long as its not at Citi Field.

Tomorrow will be a twilight doubleheader. It was scheduled to take place today, but the inconsistent weather pushed it back to tomorrow.

Game 1 Probables:

NYM R.A. Dickey 11-8 vs. MIL Yovani Gallardo 14-7
