Initial Reaction:

Dillon Gee faced off against Kyle Kendrick in Game 2 against the Philadelphia Phillies. Gee gave up a quick two-run home run to Ryan Howard in the 1st inning, but settled down to pitch six scoreless frames. After being down 2-0 going into the 7th inning, the Mets offense gave Gee a lead with a five-run rally, and later a victory for the rookie pitcher.

Despite the limited contact off Duda’s bat this season, he’s had some moments where you feel good about him. The double today was very encouraging, especially considering the timing.

Positives From The Game:

Gee Whiz: In his fourth major league start, Dillon Gee pitched phenomenal. He went seven innings allowing two runs on five hits and two walks while striking out five. Gee earned his second win tonight, and now has an ERA at 2.00.

Dude-uh!: As a pinch-hitter in the 7th inning, Lucas Duda hit a three-run double that put the Mets up 4-2. He now has 10 RBIs in his young career.

Negatives From The Game:

Interesting Facts:
