Go figure. I’ve gotten to the point where I don’t want the Mets to win. What do they do? They go on the road and win a series for like, the 4th time this season. I hate them more and more each day. That being said, Dickey pitched well in the matinee affair as they climb to 69-71.

The Scoop: While there are few things that I like about the 2010 season for our Mets, Robert Allen Dickey is one of them. He’s turned his career around right in front of our eyes, and has been one of if not the most consistent pitcher the Mets have had since joining the club. The Mets used a Luis Hernandez double and Carlos Beltran sacrifice fly to take a 2-0 lead in the 3rd inning. After giving up a tying home run in the 5th, the Mets went ahead for good with a RBI double off the bat of Nick Evans. This was only the second road series win for the Mets against a National League opponent this year. Pathetic.

The Good:

Robert Allen: Dickey picked up his 10th win of the season pitching six effective innings, giving up only two runs on five hits. A solid for outing for someone who has become a solid pitcher.

The Bad:

4,5,6: Ike Davis, David Wright, and Chris Carter combined to go 0-11. It’s a wonder the Mets scored at all today.

The Ugly:

I’ll give them a pass, since they did actually win today.

Interesting Facts:

5: Takahashi’s save count

10: Number of Dickey’s Wins.

What’s Next?

The Mets will take Thursday off before welcoming those god damn Phillies into town. Oh, and they got Doc Halladay too.
