What an aerial display by A-Rod tonight. A-Rod homered in the sixth, seventh, and ninth innings, giving the Yankees their third win in their last four games. Along with A-Rod, Jorge Posada and Curtis Granderson joined the home run fun during the sixth inning. In total, the Yankees clubbed five home runs tonight.

Phil Hughes picked up his 14th win tonight, but wasn’t as sharp as he normally is. Hughes gave up nine hits and a walk over six innings. This marked the first time Hughes did not record a strikeout in a start.

The Yankee bullpen proved to be solid again tonight, throwing three scoreless innings.
