Falling right in line with the Mets season, since the All Star break, the Mets couldn’t win back to back games, or a series for that matter. they fell to 55-56 on the season, as they were unable to complete a comeback against Roy Halladay and the Phillies.

Initial Reaction: R.A. Dickey was up against Roy Halladay this afternoon in the final game of the 3 game set between the Mets and Phils. He didn’t live up to the billing, but the Mets were able to get to Roy Halladay as well. Unfortunately, they could not recover from the 4 run hole they fell into. The Mets fell back below .500, 54-55 on the year.

The Positives:

1,2: Reyes and Pagan reache base a combined 5 times today. It proved when the top of the line up gets on base, teams can score runs.

Josh Thole: Thole had three hits, including a single in the top of the 9th, and represented the tying run, that unfortunately never crossed the plate. He’s hitting .323 in limited ABs this season.

The Negatives:

3,4: Beltran and Wright were the opposite of the top two today. Combined 0-8 with 6 strikeouts. No bueno.

Dickey: R.A. was roughed up in Philly today, lasting only 3 innings, giving up 6 runs on 8 hits. He’s been great this year though, so we’ll let his rough day slide.

Interesting Facts:

-The Mets haven’t won a road series against a National League team this season.

What’s Next?

The Mets have off tomorrow, followed by a 6 game home stand where they’ll welcome the Rockies to Citi Field, followed by these same Phillies next weekend.
