Match-Up: Texas Rangers (Lee) at Boston Red Sox (Lackey)

Two of the AL’s top big-game pitchers will square off in Fenway Park on Saturday. Even though Cliff Lee dropped his first decision as a member of the Rangers, Lee gave the Rangers length by throwing a complete game. Lee has thrown complete games in four of his last five starts. Lee is only 8-4 on the season, but carries an impressive 2.64 ERA and a low 0.95 WHIP. In his career, Lee is 2-4 with a 4.39 ERA against the Red Sox. However, those starts came as a member of the Cleveland Indians.

Lee will be opposed by John Lackey. Lackey is 9-5 with a 4.78 ERA on the season. Lackey has been very good at home this year, posting a 7-2 record with a 4.45 ERA. Lackey has been very pedestrian against the Rangers, posting an 11-12 record with a 5.87 ERA. Lackey has lost two straight games.

Before Lee was traded to Texas, he had won five straight starts. Expect Lee to bounce back in a big way against the injured Red Sox.

The Pick: Texas Rangers

July Record: 8-8
