Match-Up: Will Brazil defeat North Korea by two or more goals?

Brazil and North Korea will square off in first round action this afternoon. Brazil is currently ranked as FIFA’s #1 team in the world and boasts a dynamic array of playmakers. Led by Real Madrid midfielder, Kaka, the Brazilians have a furious offensive force. Brazil has won a record five World Cups. They are favored to win their sixth this year.

Brazil was embarassed when they were eliminated, 1-0 by France in 2006 quarterfinals.

Brazil must deal with a mysterious opponent, North Korea. North Korea has not played in a major tournament since the 1992 AFC Asian Cup. They’ll have a nice wakeup call this afternoon.

I’m picking the Brazilians to win by more than two goals. Per ESPN ‘Brazil hasn’t lost its World Cup opener since falling to Spain in 1934, going 13-0-3 while winning seven in a row.’ They are young, hungry, and ready to win it all.

The Pick: Brazil Win By 2

June Record: 6-8
