Match-Up: Florida Marlins (Johnson) at Philadelphia Phillies (Halladay)

AP

Since yesterday’s Pads/Mets game was rained out, we’ll have two picks today. The Mets taking Game 1 is pick #1…

Aces will square off Thursday Night in Philadelphia for my second pick. Collectively, Halladay and Johnson have struck out 154 hitters in 170 innings. Don’t expect many runs scored.

The last time Halladay faced the Fish, he was perfect. Halladay struck out eleven Marlins, propelling the Phillies to a 1-0 victory. Johnson squared off against Halladay on that historic day and was the hard luck loser. Johnson struck out seven Phillies over seven innings while allowing one unearned run.

Johnson has not been dominant on the road this season, posting a 1-0 record with a 2.50 ERA in three starts.

The Marlins went 7-2 in Philadelphia last season, but the Phils are sending out their ace who has been absolutely electric this season. I’m going with Mr. Perfect at home.

The Pick: Phillies

June Record: 4-4
