Match-Up: Chicago Cubs (Silva) at Pittsburgh Pirates (Eveland)

Carlos Silva has been great for the Cubs this season. He is 7-0 with a 3.12 ERA with a 4:1 K/BB ratio. In his last start, Silva threw seven scoreless innings with 11 strikeouts against the Cardinals. Silva has won his last five starts. In his career, Silva is 1-0 with a 0.00 ERA against the Pirates.

The Pirates signed Dana Eveland, who was released by Toronto, last week and maybe they shouldn’t have. In Eveland’s first start with the Pirates, he gave up eight earned runs in only an 1 1/3 innings to the struggling Diamondbacks. In three career starts against the Cubs, Eveland is winless with a 6.75 ERA.

The Cubs went 5-1 at PNC Park last season and were 10-4 overall against the Pirates. Silva has been great so I’m going with the Cubbies for the win.

The Pick: Chicago Cubs
