The Phillies will send 47-year-old lefty Jamie Moyer out to the mound on Sunday afternoon as they look to sweep the Florida Marlins. The Phillies are 3-2 against the Marlins this season and 2-0 at Sun Life Stadium.

Moyer is 5-4 with a 4.55 ERA this season. He has won three of his last five starts, but lost to the Marlins earlier this season 5-1 at Citizen’s Bank Park. However, Moyer has been very good against the Fish in his career. He is 13-5 in 18 career starts with 3.18 ERA. More impressively, Moyer is 8-1 with a 1.66 ERA in nine career starts at Sun Life Stadium.

The Marlins will counter with righty, Anibal Sanchez. Sanchez is 4-2 with a 3.23 ERA this season. Sanchez has won his last three starts, but lost against the Phillies, 8-6 early in April. In his career, Sanchez is 2-5 in eight starts against the Phillies, posting a 5.70 ERA.

I’m taking the ageless wonder in this contest. Moyer has been great against the Marlins in his career and the Philly bats are beginning to wake up.
