The Yankees beat the Twins, 1-0 in their suspended game from last night. Derek Jeter’s 6th inning solo home run into the Twins bullpen was the only offense the Yankee pitching staff needed. The bullpen combination of David Robertson, Joba Chamberlain, and Mariano Rivera held the Twins scoreless for four innings. Mariano Rivera wasn’t sharp, only throwing six of his fourteen pitches for strikes, but picked up his 9th save in ten opportunities this season. AJ Burnett threw five innings last night, but was the pitcher of record, picking up his fifth win of the season while lowering his ERA to 3.55.

Defensively for the Yankees, Derek Jeter made an excellent jump throw to record the final out of 6th inning, stranding runners at 1st and 2nd base. Joe Mauer hit a line shot off of David Robertson’s back in the 6th, but ironically enough, the ball went right to Alex Rodriguez for a line out.
