Match-Up: Oakland A’s (Braden) vs. Los Angeles Angeles (Saunders)

The A’s and Halos will square off in a three-game set starting Friday Night. The A’s took an early season series in Anaheim this year, two games to one. However, the A’s just lost two of three in Texas to the Rangers and the Angels dropped two of three at home to the Rays.

It’s been well-documented on this site that I don’t care much for Dallas Braden. I think he’s immature, a clown, a goof, a spaz. Even though he beat the Angels earlier this season(six innings, three runs), he hasn’t been great against the Halos in his career. He is 2-3 with 4.38 ERA in six career starts.

Anaheim starter, Joe Saunders, is looking to get back on track. Saunders won 17 and 16 games respectively in 2008 and 2009, but has started 2010 with a 1-5 record. Saunders did better in his last start(5 2/3 innings, one earned run) against Seattle, but did not figure into the decision. In his career, Saunders is 9-4 against the A’s.

For the Angels to be successful this year, they need Saunders to turn it around. Given his success against the A’s and my hatred towards Dallas Braden, I’m going to pick the Rally Monkey and those pesky Angels.

The Pick: Los Angeles Angels

May Record: 6-7
