The Yankees(11-4) took two out of three games against the Angels(9-8) last week. The Yankees enjoyed strong pitching performances from Andy Pettitte and Phil Hughes. Pettitte will get another crack against the Halos this weekend.

Pitching Match-Ups:

Friday, 10:05PM (YES) AJ Burnett (2-0, 2.37 ERA) vs. Ervin Santana (1-2, 4.35 ERA)

Saturday, 4:10 PM (FOX) Andy Pettitte (2-0, 1.35 ERA) vs. Joel Pineiro (2-1, 1.77 ERA)

Sunday, 3:35PM (YES) Javier Vazquez (1-2, 8.27 ERA) vs. Scott Kazmir (1-1, 7.45 ERA)

Luckily for the Yankees, they will face the same three pitchers they saw in New York. The Yankees touched up Kazmir and Santana for eleven earned runs over nine innings. However, they did not fare so well against Pineiro.  Pineiro threw seven masterfully innings allowing only five hits while striking out seven.

Since losing two of three last week in New York, the Angels have won five of seven games. Angels designated hitter, Hideki Matsui is off to a hot start with his new club. Matsui has blasted four home runs and driven in eleven runs thus far.
