I decided to keep the NFL Draft theme that we’ve had here at NYSOS with my picks of the day. There are a few interesting props that caught my eye when I evaluated the selections.

Brian Bulaga, OT, Iowa

Prop #1: From Which Conference Will the #5 Overall Pick Come From?

The Big Ten Or Any Other Conference?

The Kansas City Chiefs are in need of desperate help on the offensive line. Chief’s Quarterback, Matt Cassel, was constantly put on the ground last season as the Chiefs were one of the league’s worst in sacks allowed. At this point in the draft, many pundits, including our own, believe that Sam Bradford, Ndamukong Suh, Gerald McCoy, and Russell Okung will be off the board. Okung is believed to be this year’s top offensive tackle, but Iowa’s Brian Bulaga is a close second. Bulaga makes a lot of sense for the Chiefs. Chief’s GM Scott Pioli apparently has a close relationship with Iowa Head Coach, Kirk Ferentz. The Chiefs enjoyed a decade of dominance from left tackle, Willie Roaf. Left tackle has been neglected for years by the Chiefs and selecting a solid left tackle will be the answer to their problems. The Chiefs may also opt for Safety Eric Berry, but Bulaga would be a better fit.

The Pick: The Big Ten

Prop #2: What position will be the listed position of the #11 Overall Pick?

Linebacker or Any Other Position?

The Broncos own this selection. Many draft pundits are aware that the Broncos really, really like Alabama linebacker, Rolando McClain. However, the Broncos just dealt troubled wide receiver Brandon Marshall to the Miami Dolphins. Wide receiver is obviously the team’s biggest need and they may fill that void with Oklahoma State wide receiver, Dez Bryant. Bryant is the top wide receiver prospect in this draft and would fill the void created by Marshall. Broncos head coach Josh McDaniels has always liked drafting offensive linemen during his Patriot tenure and may opt for Idaho’s Mike Iupati or Florida’s Maurkice Pouncey.
