Match-Up: Tampa Bay Rays (9-3), Niemann vs. Boston Red Sox (4-8), Lackey

I’m a little upset with ESPN. They didn’t give us much to pick for today. I refuse to pick NASCAR or soccer so I’ll settle for baseball. The Tampa Bay Rays (6-0 Away) will be going for the sweep tomorrow in Fenway Park. The Boston Red Sox (1-5 Home) have stumbled out of gate, but pitcher John Lackey has been a bright so far for the club. In Lackey’s two starts this season, he has allowed two runs over 12.2 innings. Lackey has a 9-2 career record against Tampa Bay, boasting a 3.07 ERA. Tomorrow is Patriot’s Day in Boston. The Red Sox are 66-48 all-time on Patriot’s Day. Expect there to be a Neil Diamond sighting or two around Fenway.

Even though I’m a Yankees fan, I like to think of it as I’m picking against the Rays, not picking the Red Sox.

April Record: 12-6
