Week 2 of the Major League Baseball season is wrapping up. The Yankees are the best team in the game right now. Just wait until A-Rod and Teixeira start to hit.

So who had a great week? Who struggled? Read more to find out…

Who’s Hot?

1. Ubaldo Jimenez, SP, Rockies: Jimenez threw the first no-hitter of the 2010 Major League season on Saturday Night against the Atlanta Braves. This was also the first no-hitter ever for the Rockies organization. Jimenez went 2-0 this week, striking out 14 hitters over 15 innings while only yielding two runs.

2. Chase Utley, 2B, Phillies: Utley has hit five home runs this week resulting in a 1.045 slugging percentage. I’m playing against Utley in a few of my personal leagues and needless to say, I’m trailing in home runs.

3. Jose Guillen, OF, Royals: Alike Utley, Guillen has crushed five home runs this week. He is hitting at a .440 clip with a 1.120 slugging percentage. Guillen is only owned in 49% of Yahoo! Fantasy Baseball leagues, so he is definitely worth a roster spot for those shallow with outfield depth.

Who’s Not?

1. Mark Teixeira, 1B, Yankees: Teixeira is one of my favorite players in the game, but he has really struggled this week. He is only hitting .150 and has yet to hit a home run. Teixeira finished with 39 home runs last season, so it’s only a matter of time.

2. Closer Casualities: Week 2 claimed two more closers: Mike Gonzalez, BAL and Brian Fuentes, LAA.

Both Gonzalez(shoulder) and Fuentes(back) were placed on the DL this week.Gonzalez blew two of three save opportunities before getting injured. The Baltimore bullpen is in limbo so it’s not even worth offering a recommendation. Fuentes is expected back this week, so don’t get too excited about Fernando Rodney(3 for 3 in save opportunities).

Closer Causalities: Frank Francisco, Mike Gonzalez, Brian Fuentes
