The Match-Up: Phoenix Suns at Utah Jazz

Seeding for the Western Conference will come down to the final day as Denver, Utah, and Phoenix are all within one game of each other. Utah(32-8 Home) has won ten straight games on their home court. They are also 2-1 against the Phoenix Suns this season. Point guard Deron Williams has played extremely well recently, averaging 21.8 points and 12.4 assists over his last five contests.  Williams has averaged 18 points and 8 assists in his three meetings against the Suns.

The Phoenix Suns(21-19 Road) are one of the hottest teams in basketball. They have won 12 of 14 games and are thriving with Amare Stoudemire’s dominant play. Stoudemire is averaging 27.8 points and 10 rebounds over his last five contests. Stoudemire went off for 44 points and 7 rebounds in the Suns last meeting against the Jazz. Utah forward, Carlos Boozer must do a better job in defending Stoudemire.

Both teams are currently in action. The Suns are at home playing the Nuggets and the Jazz are at Golden State. Given the strength of their opponents and location of tomorrow’s game, I’m giving the advantage to Utah. They’ve been great at home and are currently leading the season series. I expect Phoenix to come out a little tired after playing Denver tonight.

The Pick: Utah Jazz
